Each year some two million CROP Hunger Walkers, volunteers, and sponsors put their hearts and soles in motion, raising over $16 million per year to help end hunger and poverty around the world and in their own communities.
Lutherville/Timonium area churches are sponsoring a CROP Walk, which in recent years has been held on the last Sunday in September, however, this year the walk will be held October 10, 2010. The last few years the walk has had our church as the beginning and end of the walk, so we are basically hosting the walk, but people from the other churches will be assisting us. 75% of monies raised go to help hungry people throughout the world through CROP which is a part of Church World Service. The other 25% goes to the Assistance Center of Towson (ACTC) to help local hungry folks. Donation forms for walkers will be available after July 20th.
